What is Lymphatic Drainage Massage?
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a highly specialised, gentle form of massage that encourages the natural drainage of the lymph, which carries waste products away from the tissues back toward the heart. The lymphatic system plays a crucial role in immune function and fluid balance in the body.
Unlike other massage techniques, lymphatic drainage uses very light, rhythmic, pumping movements that follow the direction of lymph flow. This stimulates the lymph vessels just below the skin to contract and move lymph fluid more efficiently through the body.

What to Expect
Lymphatic drainage is a very gentle treatment — the pressure used is minimal compared to other massage techniques. You will remain fully or partially clothed, and the movements are slow, repetitive and rhythmic. Many clients find it deeply relaxing and often fall asleep during the session.
It is common to feel the urge to urinate shortly after a session as the body begins to process and eliminate the mobilised lymphatic fluid. Drinking plenty of water after your treatment supports this process.
