FAQ & Terms & Conditions

Everything you need to know before your visit. If your question isn't answered here, please contact us.

All bookings are by scheduled appointment only. You can make an enquiry online via our booking form, or contact us directly by phone on (01) 611 1444 or by email at info@thebodywiseclinic.ie.
We recommend arriving 10–15 minutes early for your first appointment. This allows you to fill in your consultation form and enjoy a herbal tea in our waiting area before your treatment begins.
All new clients complete a consultation form before their first treatment. This information helps your therapist tailor the treatment to your specific needs and ensures there are no medical contraindications. The consultation time with your therapist is included in your treatment duration.
We require 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule any appointment. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice will incur a 100% charge. As a courtesy, we send reminder texts the day before your appointment — but we cannot be held responsible for undelivered texts, so please do not rely solely on these reminders.
If you are late, you may lose time from your treatment and still be charged the full amount. Our therapists have an obligation to start the next client's appointment on time. We appreciate your understanding.
We are a Health & Wellbeing Clinic, not a spa. We do not have shower facilities on the premises.
Some Irish health insurance plans cover massage and complementary therapy treatments. Coverage varies significantly between providers, so we strongly advise checking your specific plan before booking. If you require a health insurance receipt, please let us know at the time of booking so we can assign you to a therapist registered with an association.
Yes, you can request a specific therapist, though availability cannot always be guaranteed. Please mention your preference when making your booking and we will do our best to accommodate you.
For most massage treatments, clients undress to their underwear and are professionally draped with towels throughout. Only the area being worked on will be uncovered at any time. For Indian Head Massage, you remain fully clothed. Your therapist will explain what is required before treatment begins.
This depends on the treatment booked. A full-body holistic massage typically covers the back, legs, arms, shoulders, neck and scalp. Deep tissue and sports massage can be focused on specific areas. Your therapist will discuss your needs and preferences during your consultation.
Certain medical conditions may mean that massage is not appropriate. Please view our full contraindications list and disclose any medical conditions during your consultation. Our therapists reserve the right to refuse treatment if they believe it may not be in the client's best interest.
The Bodywise Clinic is located on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors of 45 Dawson Street. Unfortunately, there is no lift on the premises. If you need assistance with the stairs, please notify us and a team member will be happy to assist you.
Pre-paid pack sales (3×45 min, 3×60 min, 3×90 min) are valid for six months from the date of purchase and are non-refundable. Packs can only be used by one person. Our 24-hour cancellation policy applies — no-shows and last-minute cancellations will result in the loss of a treatment from your pack.
For safety and the comfort of all clients, we ask that you do not bring children to your appointment unless they are booked for their own treatment. Our treatment rooms are not suitable for unsupervised children.
The safety and wellbeing of our therapists is paramount. We reserve the right to refuse treatment to any client whose behaviour our therapists deem inappropriate or threatening. Any such behaviour will result in immediate termination of the treatment with full charge applied.
Holistic massage is a full-body relaxation massage using gentle, flowing strokes. Deep tissue massage uses firmer pressure targeting deeper layers of muscle to address chronic pain and tension. Sports massage is focused on the musculoskeletal demands of athletic activity — prevention, performance and recovery. All can be tailored to your needs.
This varies by individual and condition. For acute issues, one to three sessions may be sufficient. For chronic or complex conditions, more sessions over a longer period may be recommended. Your therapist will advise during your initial consultation.
For general wellbeing and stress management, monthly massages are a great baseline. For sports recovery or specific conditions, bi-weekly or weekly sessions may be more appropriate. Your therapist will guide you based on your individual needs.
